The Ark is a to apartments converted, traditional farmhouse in Den Hoorn, the most southern village of Texel.

 

Originally, the village was next to the dike, that had to protect the island against the ever-threatening sea. Many villagers earned their living as a "Loodsman". Their job was to guide the ship safely through the dangerous "Marsdiep".


Those who choose to stay at "de Ark", can enjoy an unobstructed view of a typical Texel meadows with woods and dunes in the background. Around the farm there are several small animals. There is a playground and lawn with a sandbox, swings, seesaw and slide. Whit bad weather the children can play in the common playroom.
